News and Tidbits
Welcome back to the second semester. It's all downhill from here. May will be here before we know it. The 2019-2020 calendar will be available February 14, 2019. Please check the calendar for more information.
It's scholarship time! Money is out there for the taking! College, College, College! Lots of scholarship opportunities are available now. Come to room 156 Monday through Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Don't let this opportunity slip away!
Together with Aviands Food, HCS and WJM hosted a food drive. It was an overwhelming success. WJM gathered 354.05 pounds, and HCS gathered 468 pounds, for whopping total of 822.05 pounds. We will donate this food to the Tombstone and Town of Huachuca Food Banks. Thank you to all who helped make this unbelievable donation possible. As a thank you from Aviands Food, the students will receive ice cream parties! Our goal next year is 1,000 pounds!
Don't forget its tax credit time! We can accept donations for the 2018 year until April 15, 2019. You can make a donation that is a 100% deduction from your AZ state taxes, and it can go directly to the site/group/team or club of your choosing. Check out our Arizona Tax Credit page for the form. You can turn this in directly into the site or the district office. This is a great way to help the student groups/teams/clubs, and offset your taxes - win/win!
All schools will be celebrating Spring Break March 18-22, 2019.
Congratulations to HCS teachers Mr. Diveley, Mrs. Paul, and Mrs. Duffy for the award of STEM-CAN grants. Each of these teachers received 12 robots for use in their classroom. HCS was also received a $1000.00 Target grant to start a soccer program. Good job HCS!
